③Mt. Asahi Mountain Climbing Course
A quick 30 minute walk from the base to the summit.
- Distance: about 6 kilometers
- Duration: about 2 hours
- Elevation difference: about 100 meters
At the top of Mt. Asahi is a spruce tree planted by Prince Chichibu. The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular, and you can see the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain below, and the Kitashin Gogaku and the Northern Alps in the distance. Ichinuma can be found along the way, which is a great photo spot.

Take the bus from Shibu Onsen and get off at Sun Valley. (￥800）

⑧Pond Tour Course
The most iconic trail in Shiga Kogen.

- Duration: about 3 hours and 30 minutes
- Elevation difference: about 360 meters
A course that lets you visit various lakes and marshes of various sizes that are representative of Shiga Kogen. The beautiful Mt. Mae Wetland, an area of emerald green and contains 48 different ponds.

This short trail offers a variety of landscapes.

From early spring to autumn, the course is full of highlights such as the Tanohara Marshland, where bog flowers bloom one after another, and Kido Pond where both beautiful greenery and gorgeous autumn leaves can be found! It is ideal for those wishing to enjoy the nature of Shiga Kogen.
